Yorkshire’s coolest wintertime attraction returned to Millennium Square for more icy fun and adventure for all the family
Skates at the ready as Yorkshire’s coolest wintertime attraction is back for 2019!
Organised by Leeds City Council with support from media partners Radio Aire and now in its 19th year, the Ice Cube will be open from Friday 1 February until Sunday 24 February 2019. The hugely-popular event will once again feature an undercover ice rink, allowing visitors to enjoy an outdoor skating experience whatever the weather; and it will be bigger than before!
In addition to the open air ice rink, there will be an array of winter themed attractions including the Ice Jet, the Glacier Run Simulator plus the new Airmaxx along with other winter themed rides for children of all ages.
Back for its second year, the Penguin Club will run every Saturday and Sunday mornings, providing a chance for younger children to take their first steps on to the ice in a safe and fun environment with the assistance of the popular penguin skating aids.
There’s something for all the family to see and enjoy during your visit to Ice Cube. Treat yourself to some fresh cooked food, sweets treats and savouries. Catch your breath after a thrilling skate on the rink or get a hot drink while watching your family enjoy themselves.
A special ‘first steps to skating’ tuition programme for Leeds schools children will also be available during term time for schools to book and a weekly dedicated accessible session every Thursday morning at 10am is available for wheelchair users and for other disabled persons who may prefer a more quieter and relaxed environment.
Plus, visitors will be able to enjoy tasty winter treats at the new Skate Escape café, brought to you by the people behind The Mussel Pot & Grill.
