Sleeping Concert Leeds: Have you ever felt sleepy at a classical concert?

On behalf of the University of Leeds, we are delighted to extend an invitation for you to attend and cover a night of tranquility and musical bliss at Leeds’ inaugural Sleeping Concert.

This groundbreaking event, the first of its kind in the UK, will take place on May 11, 2024, at the esteemed Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall. Guided by esteemed sound therapist Ms. Julia Tsang and talented pianist Ms. Lupeng Zhang, the Sleeping Concert promises to be a transformative experience, offering attendees a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a meditative journey of sound and relaxation.

Against a backdrop of plush mattresses, fragrant candles, and lazy dim lighting, Ms. Tsang and Ms. Zhang will create a serene atmosphere, inviting guests to unwind and rejuvenate as they are gently guided into a state of deep rest and tranquility.

This event marks a significant milestone in the UK’s cultural landscape, bringing the innovative concept of the Sleeping Concert to Leeds for the very first time. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the profound effects of music on relaxation and well-being, while also supporting a worthy cause.

In addition to providing a unique musical experience, the Sleeping Concert embodies a spirit of generosity and community support. Following the event, many of the props used, including mattresses and candles, will be donated to local charities in Leeds to benefit the homeless community. This initiative underscores our commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, ensuring that the concert’s impact extends beyond the confines of the venue.

Thus, we are approaching you to enhance the reach of this showcase among aficionados of music and individuals experiencing sleep disorders. Recognizing your esteemed standing in the UK, we are enthusiastic about collaborating with you to introduce the enchantment of sleeping concerts to a wider spectrum of audiences through innovative musical performance modalities.
