Sizzling Summer Series Concerts Set to Return to Millennium Square

Millennium Square is set to become the epicenter of music excitement this summer with the highly anticipated return of the Summer Series.

Running from July 3 to August 4, 2024, this annual concert extravaganza promises 13 nights of unmissable performances. The vibrant festival atmosphere will take over the heart of Leeds, with the majestic Leeds Civic Hall as a stunning backdrop. Music enthusiasts can look forward to an eclectic mix of emerging artists and globally renowned icons.

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, July 3, with the Sounds Of The City concert series, showcasing a stellar lineup of rock, indie, and pop sensations. Chart-toppers set to perform include Nothing But Thieves, Anne-Marie, Tom Grennan, Paloma Faith, Busted, James Arthur, and Suede & Manic Street Preachers, along with special guests.

Millennium Square is gearing up for a summer filled with musical nostalgia and vibrant tribute acts. On July 20, the fifth installment of 80s Classical brings the Orchestra of Opera North together with iconic 80s acts like Bananarama, Midge Ure, Johnny Hates Jazz, and Deniece Pearson from Five Star.

For fans of the 70s, the internationally acclaimed Brutus Gold’s Love Train returns with its annual outdoor disco party. Additionally, the square will feature two standout tribute concerts: Legend – The Music of Bob Marley on August 1, and The Magic of Motown on August 2.

Local talent shines on August 3 as Leeds’s own Yard Act performs their largest hometown show ever. The festivities conclude on August 4 with the annual Leeds Ska & Mod festival, featuring performances by The Beat ft Ranking Jnr, Stranger Cole, and The Chords UK.

Councillor Jonathan Pryor, Leeds City Council’s deputy leader and executive member for economy, culture and education said:

“Every summer, Millennium Square becomes a focal point for music and live performances which bring thousands of people together at the heart of the city centre. It’s great to welcome back such a vibrant and eclectic programme of events once again this year and to be giving the people of Leeds the chance to enjoy some incredible artists.”

The specially designed outdoor arena will feature a variety of street food catering options and a fully licensed bar. The venue prioritizes accessibility, equipped with a raised viewing platform, disabled toilets, and Mobile Changing Places. Detailed accessibility information and companion ticket details can be obtained from the venue’s website or by contacting Leeds Ticket Hub www.millsqleeds.com
