Marking its 10th anniversary, the Horsforth Walk of Art returns on July 6th and 7th, 2024, from 11 AM to 4 PM daily.
This cherished event has seen Horsforth’s residents, businesses, and community groups annually transform their spaces into vibrant hubs showcasing local musicians, artists, and performers. This year’s festival, drawing from its rich tradition, will reconnect with its origins and promises an unforgettable celebration. Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of activities including workshops, installations, sculptures, and paintings. Special performances will capture the essence of Horsforth, with many pieces inspired by this year’s theme, ‘Things that Go’, adding a dynamic flair to the festivities.
Beyond just viewing art, visitors can engage directly with creators through show and tells, allowing artists to discuss their work and inspirations. The festival also encourages visitors to purchase artwork, supporting local artists economically and promoting community sustainability. Lead organiser of the Horsforth Walk of Art Kezia Roberts said:
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 10th year. We are rightly proud of the talent in our area and cannot wait to share and inspire others. In a city where more and more arts centres are being shut or not supported, it is even more important to give artists and creatives a platform or space to create and be seen, and in many cases, to build on their talents, confidence and profession.
“This is a festival created and run by the community of Horsforth. Every year is very different as more people come forward to share ideas and just make those ideas come to life. We are really looking forward to welcoming you to our event.”
As Horsforth Walk of Art celebrates its 10th anniversary, it continues to emphasize the importance of community and creativity. This festival not only highlights the talents within Horsforth but also fosters a sense of belonging and togetherness. It’s an invitation to both locals and visitors to explore and appreciate the arts in a setting that celebrates innovation and history in equal measure.
Join the celebration this July and be part of a decade-long tradition that promises to inspire, entertain, and engage. For more information and to download the map please visit www.horsforth-woa.org or follow us on social media:
