Catch the Music and Starlight with extended Park and Ride services for Leeds Light Night

Families can look forward to an evening of music, lights and starlit magic as they begin their journey into Light Night 2025 with Leeds Park and Ride.

Taking place on October 22 and 23, the event has grown into one of the city’s most eagerly anticipated annual celebrations, showcasing dozens of attractions that highlight Leeds’ rich culture and heritage. Following the success of last year’s wildlife-themed displays, Leeds Park and Ride sites will once again join in the fun, featuring interactive exhibits and extended evening services to help visitors travel easily to and from the city centre.

Elland Road will be the stage for Rock NeON, an interactive installation that invites visitors to step into the spotlight and channel their inner rock star through a dazzling fusion of light and sound. Accompanied by an electrifying soundtrack, the display promises an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.

West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin said:

“Light Night has become a Leeds institution that is enjoyed by thousands from across our region – and this year promises to continue that tradition of exciting family events. As well as hosting installations of our own, we are also doing our bit to ensure families can travel easily in and out of the city centre to see the captivating events on offer.

“Our affordable Park and Ride scheme is one of the ways we’re helping to create a better-connected West Yorkshire.”

Over at Stourton, visitors can marvel at ‘The Stars Come Out at Night’ by Stella Creates — a mesmerising installation that captures the wonder of the night sky. The large, rotating sculpture casts intricate patterns of light across the landscape, bringing a touch of celestial beauty down to earth.

A striking new attraction, ‘Blood Moon’, will illuminate Leeds Bus Station, transforming the space into a glowing, otherworldly experience. The giant inflatable moon captures the beauty of the natural lunar event, when sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere casts a deep red hue across the moon’s surface.

To make travel easier during Light Night Leeds 2025, buses will run every 12–15 minutes at peak times to and from Elland Road and Stourton. The last bus to Elland Road will depart from Boar Lane (Trinity P) at 23:57, while the last bus to Stourton will leave from Lower Briggate (Trinity K) at 23:33.

Visitors can also enjoy a £3 return fare when travelling from the Park and Ride sites after 1pm, with tickets available to purchase directly from the driver. Plus, up to three under-19s can travel free with every fare-paying adult, making it a great value option for families heading to the festivities.
