NHS Heroes: How you can share your thanks to our incredible NHS staff and Frontline workers

An innovative scheme offering a very big thank you to NHS and frontline workers for their tremendous dedication and efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic is set to return.

This follows the huge success of the #LeedsSaysThanksInitiative, which co-ordinated by Leeds City Council and launched initially in the summer of 2020, saw 63 organisations based in the city provide a range of fantastic discounts and savings to frontline workers. On offer included free tickets, and access to special activities and events at a free or discounted price. Just some of the organisations and businesses to sign up to the scheme in 2020 and now 2021, includes; Leeds Rhinos; Leeds Playhouse; Slung Low theatre company and Active Leeds.

Ahead of the national ‘Thank You Day’ on the 4th July, organisations such as Leeds Rhinos, Leeds Playhouse, First Direct Arena and many more fantastic cultural and leisure organisations across Leeds, have once again pledged to offer discounted prices, even offers and experiences to NHS and frontline workers for their tireless hard work and dedication throughout COVID-19. Leeds Rhinos said:

“We’re proud to be able to give back to all the key workers who have, and continue to, selflessly go above and beyond for others throughout the pandemic. Our involvement in the ‘Leeds Says Thanks’ scheme is a just a small gesture of our gratitude for all those who have supported the city in their professional roles.”

Councillor James Lewis, Leader of Leeds City Council said:

“In Leeds we have such a fantastically diverse and colourful cultural scene which unfortunately has been hard hit by the pandemic. But with signs of normality returning and doors beginning to reopen, it is exciting to see so many local businesses and organisations come together in saying thanks to NHS and frontline workers for their tremendous efforts over the last 16 months.

“I’d like to once again offer my thanks and appreciation to each and every one of them for their truly heroic response to the crisis and hope these special offers will give them something to look forward to.”

With coronavirus lockdown restrictions now continuing to be relaxed, preparations are now firmly started for the launch of the 2021 #LeedsSaysThanks scheme. Any local businesses or organisation interested in finding out more on how to take part in the scheme are asked to please contact:
