Local residents and commuters in Seacroft are being warned to expect some short-term disruption as from Monday 19th June Yorkshire Water will be installing almost two thousand metres of new water main to ensure customers’ water supplies are not affected by new developments in the area.
Yorkshire Water’s service partner, Morrison Utility Services, will be laying the new water main from Barwick Road roundabout to the entrance of the new development at the rear of Seacroft Hospital and the work is anticipated to take up to 26 weeks.
For safety reasons there may be some lane closures in operation. Yorkshire Water will directly notify any customers who may have their water supplies interrupted whilst the work takes place. However it is anticipated that this won’t be necessary and Yorkshire Water will try to maintain water supplies at all times.
Emily Brady from Yorkshire Water said: “We appreciate there may be some disruption as we carry out this essential work and we’d like to apologise in advance to anyone who is affected.
“We’re working hard to keep any disruption to a minimum and our service partners will carry out the work as quickly and professionally as possible. I’d like to thank local residents in advance for their patience while we complete this work.”
Customers with any queries about the scheme can call our Customer Service Team on 0344 9020227 (Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm).
