Leeds’ very own, Junior Simba, chosen to share the stage with Pete Tong when Ibiza Classics comes to Leeds.
As pioneering dance music DJ, broadcaster and presenter, Pete Tong, prepares to bring his globally acclaimed Ibiza Classics show to Leeds Temple Newsam, on Sunday 18 June, he announces that local DJ, Junior Simba has been given the highly esteemed job of opening the entire show. Selected personally by Pete Tong for his vibrant energy and explosive crowd-thrilling sets, Junior Simba beat-off robust competition to bag the prime opening slot at Ibiza Classics when the show comes to his home town next week.
With high critical acclaim and support from the cream of radio including Jaguar, Danny Howard and Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Ben Malone (Kiss FM) who named him one of his ‘Future Five’ for 2021, and key tastemaker support at Rinse FM, Junior Simba has fast made the transition from the Leeds underground (where he has a monthly residency at Headrow House), to the national dance music stage:

Featuring the 65-piece The Essential Orchestra, which is produced, arranged & conducted by Jules Buckley, (alongside a host of guest DJs and singers), Ibiza Classics brings the worlds of classical and club together, with stunningly reimagined versions of classic house tracks including ‘Rhythm Is A Dancer’, ‘Café Del Mar’, ‘Insomnia’, ‘You Got The Love’, ‘Free’ and many more. For one night only, the serene Tudor-Jacobean grounds of Temple Newsam will undergo a midsummer Ibizan takeover, as the pioneer of global-change in house music, rediscovers those banging underground classics, with an embellished orchestra.
