Leeds-based singer-songwriter Jos McLaren has released a moving charity single — a heartfelt cover of ‘Kiss Me’ by Sixpence None The Richer — in support of Against Breast Cancer.
Jos McLaren is a British singer-songwriter who blends heartfelt storytelling with uplifting, melodic soundscapes. Her musical journey began in 2022 with the release of Dying to Live, created in the wake of a terminal cancer diagnosis. Since then, she has collaborated with acclaimed writers and producers including Paddy Byrne (Tom Grennan) and Jeff Franzel (Josh Groban). Inspired by artists such as The Script, The Shires, and Taylor Swift, Jos crafts music that captures raw emotion, resilience, and an unmistakably positive, feel-good energy.
The track features an outstanding duet with Alison Wheeler of The South and was produced by acclaimed songwriter and producer Paul Statham, whose credits include work with Dido, Kylie Minogue, and Simple Minds. Living with Stage 4 breast cancer, Jos hopes her rendition of Kiss Me will raise both vital funds and awareness for the charity’s life-saving research and support initiatives.
Renowned for her emotionally charged and inspiring songwriting, Jos has released eight singles to date, earning airplay on BBC Radio Leeds, UCB Radio, and Hope 103.2FM in Australia. Her debut EP, Dying to Live — recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios — was widely praised for its honesty, hope, and resilience.
Jos’s evocative vocals intertwine beautifully with Alison Wheeler’s distinctive voice, infusing this timeless classic with fresh warmth and heartfelt sincerity. Together, they deliver a moving celebration of love, connection, and the unifying power of music.
“I was honoured to be asked by Jos to sing with her on this beautiful song. It felt natural to support her, and everyone touched by cancer. Watching Jos face her diagnosis with such drive and determination is truly inspiring.” – Alison Wheeler.
“Music has carried me through the hardest moments of living with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, and I want to turn my cancer journey into something that makes a difference for others,” Jos shares. She invites listeners to not only enjoy the music but to stand with her in the fight against breast cancer.

[VERSE]
Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress
[CHORUS]
Oh kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon’s sparkling
So kiss me
[VERSE]
Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We’ll take the trail marked on your father’s map
[CHORUS]
Oh kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon’s sparkling
So kiss me
[CHORUS]
Kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon’s sparkling
So kiss me
So kiss me
