Event Focus — Empowering Young People with SEND and Their Support Networks for Transition to Adult Life.
The ‘SEND Next Choices’ fair, a free event dedicated to assisting young individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), along with their parents, carers, and support workers, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25 from 10 AM to 6 PM. Hosted by Leeds City Council’s Employment and Skills Service at the First Direct Arena, the event will showcase over 60 exhibitors. These exhibitors will provide invaluable guidance on educational paths, training, apprenticeships, and career opportunities. Notable participants include Leeds Autism Services, SCOPE, Future Horizons Leeds, DEX Deaf Experience, and The Prince’s Trust, all geared towards helping attendees navigate their transition into adult life.
Now in its third year, the fair will once again include a popular fun zone, this time featuring a new addition, a roped climbing wall provided by West Leeds Activity Centre. Attendees can also find a quiet zone designed for relaxation, areas offering assistance with life skills and financial management, and informative sessions focused on supported internships.
