Show your support for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund by sending your warmest wishes to family and friends with our beautiful range of charity Christmas cards.
With your help, we are able to support children and adults with congenital heart disease across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Working alongside the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit at Leeds General Infirmary, we are funded by generous donations from the general public, our corporate supporters and by the amazing efforts of our fundraisers. We’re only able to help because of your support, thank you.
Based at the Leeds General Infirmary, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund covers the regions of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Around 450 babies, children and adults from these regions need open heart surgery every year. We aim to ensure these patients have the best possible care and to help their families in whatever way needed during their stay in hospital. Our work is overseen by a board of Trustees – made up of clinical staff, parents and business leaders.
We raise money to help the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit at the General Infirmary provide superb care for its patients and their families, but our work doesn’t stop there. More than 40% of the patients who have an operation will need long-term care, and each year 17,500 babies, children and adults pass through the unit.
We provide valuable equipment, resources and research, as well as providing a support service for both the patients and their families along the way. We support them every step of the way – from womb to adulthood.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’ve been able to approve funding for projects totalling millions of pounds in recent years. From funding cutting edge equipment to paying for the fish tank on the ward, we’re always on the lookout for ways we can help improve the lives of our heart patients.
Our vision is to support hearts for life and our mission is to make the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit a world class centre of excellence – providing the funding and resources needed to care for a patient’s heart, mind, family and future.
