Knaresborough-based Oracle Car Finance has committed to supporting Martin House Children’s Hospice in Wetherby for a third consecutive year.
This past Bank Holiday Monday, Oracle led a fundraising event at the local Supercar Bank Holiday Meet hosted by The Motorist. As the UK’s leading financier of high-end vehicles, Oracle Car Finance has successfully raised over £50,000 for Martin House, which provides free care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses across Yorkshire. The fundraising efforts included internal activities and the event at The Motorist this past Monday, August 26.
Entering their third year of partnership with the charity, Oracle hosted thousands of car enthusiasts at The Motorist. The event showcased a range of sought-after supercars, including an original 1989 Porsche 930 Turbo, a pristine Ferrari F8, a Mercedes 300SL, and a McLaren 600LT—highlighting the types of vehicles Oracle finances. Adding to the festive atmosphere, ‘Marty’ the Martin House mascot also made an appearance, symbolizing the hospice’s vital role in the community.
Martin House Children’s Hospice stands as a pillar of support and care for families across Yorkshire. Established to provide palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, the hospice offers a sanctuary where families can receive comprehensive support in a loving and caring environment.
Martin House is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its young patients and their families. The hospice provides a range of services that address not just medical needs but also emotional, social, and spiritual support. This holistic approach ensures that every family receives personalized care tailored to their unique situation. Services include pain and symptom management, end-of-life care, psychological support, and bereavement counseling.
At the heart of Martin House is the belief that families should be supported to stay together during the most challenging times. The hospice facilitates this by offering family accommodation, allowing loved ones to stay close without the burden of travel and accommodation costs. This support extends beyond just the patients to include siblings and extended family members, recognizing that each family member is affected by the challenges they face.
Oracle Car Finance Managing Director and Founder, Peter Brook said:
“Martin House Children’s Hospice supports families in the local community, and we are in awe of the work that they do and the extent of the positive impact they have in Yorkshire, offering important care and support services. The team at Oracle have all come together over the last two years to creatively fundraise, with such fantastic results.
“We wanted to bring together our partnerships, both with The Motorist and our chosen charity, to host a special Supercar Bank Holiday Meet to further fundraise, and this event has now taken our fundraising total over £50,000, which I’m proud to say is due to the dedication of our staff. We wish to thank all in attendance and the numerous Porsche Club GB members supporting the event.”
Hannah Finan, Partnerships Executive at Martin House Children’s Hospice, commented:
“Martin House only receives 1% of funding to support our children and families from across Yorkshire, so events like Supercar Monday with Oracle Finance are vital for us to keep our services going. Not only do they help us secure the funds we need to support children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, but they also help us grow awareness, letting people know we are here if they need our support. Without these kind of events, Martin House would not survive. Thank you to everyone involved and who supported on the day.”

To sustain its vital services, Martin House relies heavily on community support and fundraising efforts. The hospice organizes various events throughout the year, from charity runs to galas, to engage the community and raise necessary funds. Notably, their largest fundraising appeal, known as ‘THE BUILD’, aims to raise £2 million by winter 2025 to expand their facilities and services. This project received a significant boost from its ambassador, former England Manager Gareth Southgate, who helped launch the campaign.
Supporting Martin House can take many forms, from volunteering and participating in fundraising events to making donations. Each contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference in the lives of the children and families served by the hospice.
