Morley Glass & Glazing has helped bring Easter joy to thousands of children across Yorkshire after collecting and distributing more than 4,700 chocolate eggs to youngsters living in disadvantaged communities.
The Morley-based integral blinds manufacturer took part once again in the Yorkshire Children’s Charity Easter campaign, an annual appeal which encourages businesses across the county to donate Easter eggs for children who may otherwise go without. This year, Morley Glass, together with its suppliers and customers, collected an impressive 4,784 eggs over a two-month period.
The company’s efforts were boosted by the support of two organisations it works closely with – Leeds Knights Ice Hockey club and Freedom 2 Dance, an inclusive dance school in Castleford – both of which ran their own campaigns and made a significant contribution to the final total.
All of the Easter eggs collected by Morley Glass have now been distributed to partner schools serving some of Yorkshire’s most disadvantaged communities, helping to ensure more children can enjoy an Easter treat this year.
Charlotte Farrington, CEO and founder of Yorkshire Children’s Charity comments:
“We are incredibly grateful to Morley Glass & Glazing for their generous donations and continued support. This campaign is about much more than Easter eggs – it’s about creating moments of joy and building trust within school communities.
“Every donation helps us reach a child who might otherwise go without, and that’s what this appeal is all about – simple acts of kindness making a real difference. And thanks to the remarkable generosity of Morley Glass and its customer, suppliers and partners, we’ve been able to spread thousands of smiles across Yorkshire.”
Ian Short, Managing Director at Morley Glass said:
“I’d like to say a massive thank you to all our staff, customers and suppliers for their kind donations once again this year.
“This campaign is so important as every Easter egg we are able to collect puts a smile on a child’s face – that is priceless. It also helps to encourage a spirit of giving and thinking about those who are less fortunate than us – values that are sometimes forgotten in the hustle and bustle of daily life. I think that’s what makes this Easter campaign so special.”
The wider campaign, organised by Yorkshire Children’s Charity, has provided more than 15,000 Easter eggs to children across the region. As well as donated eggs being collected and delivered by supporters, additional Easter eggs are purchased through donations made via the charity’s website.
Morley Glass has been a proud supporter of Yorkshire Children’s Charity since its launch in 2022, providing both financial support and practical help. The charity works to improve the lives of disadvantaged children across the county, making sure no child or young person is left behind because of ill health, disability or financial hardship.
