Futures Horsforth Teams Up with Maggie’s Yorkshire for a Charity Walk

This February, the Futures Horsforth team is stepping up to support Maggie’s Yorkshire by taking on a virtual walking challenge.

In partnership with Maggie’s, a charity dedicated to providing free practical and emotional support to those affected by cancer — we’ll be tracking our steps throughout the month as we journey ‘Virtually’ from the Highlands to the South Coast. As we progress, our route will include virtual visits to every Maggie’s Centre in the UK, enhancing awareness and gathering funds for this remarkable charity.

Amanda Procter at Maggie’s Yorkshire said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be supporting Futures with their February Steps Challenge. As a charity Maggie’s Yorkshire relies on donations and fundraising efforts such as Futures’ allow us to continue to develop our unique, high quality programme of support, offering the best support possible to people with cancer as well as their family and friends. Everyone at Maggie’s sends the very best of luck and is hugely thankful to Futures for choosing to support us.”

Heena Panesar, Director at Futures said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce our February Steps Challenge in support of Maggie’s Cancer Centre! Maggie’s and the incredible work they do have become very special to all of us at Futures. They provide free, expert care and support both in-person and online for those with cancer and their loved ones.

“After visiting the centre, we can truly say that Maggie’s Yorkshire at St James University Hospital is an amazing space. It felt like a tranquil oasis compared to the usual clinical environment of a hospital. This is a fantastic cause for us to support, and the steps challenge is just the beginning of our fundraising efforts!”

Located within the grounds of St James’s University Hospital, Maggie’s Yorkshire offers a warm, inviting environment staffed by qualified professionals. They provide a proven, evidence-based support programme designed to enhance both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Funded entirely through voluntary donations, Maggie’s Yorkshire is committed to expanding its network of Centres and continuing its high-quality support programmes. The charity’s mission is to profoundly impact the lives of those affected by cancer, including their families and friends.
