Former Yorkshire County Cricket Club captain and BBC Strictly Come Dancing winner Darren Gough hosted 60 guests for 18 holes of golf at Headingley Golf Club in Leeds during Vertu Motors’ annual charity event.
The gathering, which included customers and associates of Vertu, aimed to support the Leeds-based national charity Day One Trauma Support. The charity, founded by Leeds trauma and orthopaedic surgeon Prof Peter Giannoudis, initially aided patients and families at Leeds General Infirmary. It has since expanded its reach to provide emotional, practical, and financial support to individuals across the UK who have suffered catastrophic injuries from incidents like car accidents, falls, stabbings, and sports-related accidents. An auction conducted by Darren and donations made on the day collectively raised over £2,500 for the charity.
At the event held on Friday, June 7, auction items featured an England cricket helmet signed by Joe Root and a framed picture autographed by current England Test team captain Ben Stokes. These items were generously donated by Darren Gough, who serves as an ambassador for Vertu Motors.
