As the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, we provide support for eight areas which include Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds Children’s Hospital, Leeds Cancer Centre, St James’s University Hospital, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital, Wharfdale Hospital and Leeds Dental Institute.
Our NHS hospitals in Leeds need you know more than ever before. Will you support your local hospitals and make a difference, by giving a monthly donation? By becoming a friend of Leeds Cares, the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, your generous contribution will help to fund the things over and above what the NHS can’t always fund, and it’s those extra things that will have a huge impact on patients’ lives. Every £1 you give will directly help staff and patients at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, including Leeds Children’s Hospital and Leeds Cancer Centre.
We support NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year. Working with local communities, schools and businesses across the city and beyond, each year we provide £5 million in additional funding for Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
Through generous donations we have funded life saving equipment, research fellowships, state-of-the-art technology and improvements to the patient environment. Every penny donated to Leeds Cares helps to support the hard-working staff at our hospitals and enhance the experience of patients and their families. Leeds Cares – support your local hospitals charity and make a difference. Our Goals:
- Enabling the provision of exceptional healthcare and support for all;
- Supporting healthcare staff to make a difference for patients, families and carers;
- Enabling ground breaking research and innovation;
- Supporting collaboration and partnership working to deliver sustainable change in healthcare provision;
- Inspiring change and supporting opportunity to benefit the health and wellbeing of our communities.
As the official charity partner of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Leeds Cares has launched an urgent appeal to support our hard-working NHS staff during these challenging times ahead.
The hospitals are well-prepared and have robust plans in place to respond to the coronavirus pandemic. However, staff will be working even harder than usual over the coming weeks and months, with frontline workers going the extra mile to care for patients around the clock. Our hospitals are run by 18,000 dedicated staff – from doctors and nurses to porters and cleaners – who are all working together to provide the best possible care for patients and their families. Our Priority Areas:
By funding health and wellbeing projects we prioritise those initiatives which promote healthy lifestyles and prevent ill-health, allowing for the provision of the best possible care and support for people.
We prioritise the provision of specialist equipment which enhances the care and service provided to patients. We also fund projects and improvements which will enhance the healthcare environment, and result in improved well-being and quality of life for patients and families.
Leeds Cares prioritises funding into research and innovation projects focused on accelerating the transition of research discoveries into clinical practice. By funding education, we prioritise initiatives which enable healthcare staff to access training to further their skills, perspective and knowledge base.
We prioritise funding for specialist staff to help support and co-ordinate the care, service and treatment provided to patients and families. Your donation will provide vital support to staff and patients during this busy time.
We understand that you may like to donate to a specific cause close to your heart however you can also choose to donate directly to Leeds Cares. By donating generally to the charity you can be assured that your valuable donation will be directed to whichever area of Leeds Teaching Hospitals is in the most need. All donations are gratefully received – we thank you for helping us to enable the best possible health and well-being for all.
